Summary

The Community Giving Manager is responsible for overseeing BECU’s community giving program, including implementing the strategy and developing operational processes. This role supports BECU’s business and community goals by overseeing and supporting giving operations for the Community Outreach team, including directly managing a portion of BECU’s charitable donations. The Community Giving Manager is responsible for developing, testing, documenting, managing, and continuously improving giving operations to ensure consistency across the Community Outreach team while simultaneously fostering community partnerships that deliver on BECU’s mission and build BECU’s reputation.

In this job, you will

• Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BECU Competencies, compliance, regulatory and Information Protection requirements.
• Manage a portfolio of philanthropic gifts and grants while meeting BECU’s strategic and budgetary goals. Independently authorize giving up to a pre-determined amount.
• Develop and maintain community partnerships, both new and ongoing. Determine when to expand or sunset community partner relationships.
• Establish and operationalize processes for BECU’s community giving program including, but not limited to: maintaining giving management database, communicating with recipients of BECU giving, monitoring reporting, and processing documents and payments.
• Work with community giving partners to address problems, concerns and/or questions.
• Manage BECU’s community giving program financials, providing information and reporting to leadership.
• Provide proposals for new giving opportunities to leadership.
• Contribute to the design of new program strategies and collaborations. Implement plans and develop new internal processes to ensure long-term sustainability and impact of BECU’s community giving program.
• Work with peers in the department to develop, implement and improve processes for grant making.
• Develop and manage content for internal and external audiences regarding BECU’s community giving programs, interacting with community partners, and drafting communications or other type of correspondence as needed.
• Attend BECU events as a representative of the BECU Community Giving Program.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, communication or related field, or equivalent work or education required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing grants and/or giving operations required.
• Excellent presentation, negotiation and writing skills required.
• Proficient problem solving skills and attention to detail required.
• Excellent verbal or written skills required to effectively communicate and provide customer service.
• Excellent PC skills (including Microsoft Office, SharePoint) required.
• Occasional travel required.
• Full time hours required, with additional hours as necessary.
