Summary

Interns will be assigned a mentor in the department in which they will be working. The intern will work closely with their mentor throughout the duration of the internship. The interns will learn about the operations of a Credit Union. They will perform the daily duties of their respective departments, attend various meetings, and assist on departmental projects as assigned.

In this job, you will

- Assist with organization-wide, strategic messages, at the direction of the leadership team to all levels of BECU staff.
- Execute communication by consulting, developing, writing, editing, reviewing and proofing messages.
- Perform content publication activities including adding, editing, and expiring designated Intranet content.
- Coordinate the development of messaging, materials and target message placement to build reputation and consideration from local events.
- Draft press releases for inclusion on becu.org

Qualifications

- Communications, Public Relations, Marketing degrees preferred
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0+ required
- Proven leadership skills either on or off campus preferred
- Community involvement/volunteerism preferred
- Participation in extracurricular activities preferred
- Able to commit to a 12-week program throughout summer
- Proficient verbal and written skills to effectively communicate in the English language
- Experience or training writing and editing for various audiences and communication channels
- Experience leveraging social media channels for message delivery and brand perception influence
- Understanding of multi-media channels for storytelling (video, social, web, etc.)
- Understanding of public relations and how it differs yet complements marketing
