    The Portfolio Management Support Services Specialist is responsible for the processing of multiple legal and financial transactions using various BECU systems. These include deposit account, loan and credit card charge-offs, involuntary closures of deposit and revolving accounts,  debt management plans, recovery payments, and processing forced placed insurance policies on the Credit Union’s title secured. This person will also process garnishments, levies, orders-to-withhold-and-deliver (OTWAD) delivered to BECU, and prepare documentation to ensure proper credits/debits are performed to the GL and member accounts.


    In this job, you will

    • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BECU Competencies, compliance, regulatory and information protection requirements.
    • Perform all system maintenance and transactions necessary to remove accounts from active to charge-off status, terminating membership due to the Credit Union incurring a loss through write off.
    • Perform all system maintenance and related documentation necessary to process involuntary closures of revolving and deposit accounts.
    • Report negative deposit account closures via Chex Systems.
    • Maintain and utilize a thorough knowledge of all applicable state and federal laws and regulations to ensure the Credit Union is in compliance with adjustment recovery and garnishments.
    • Process and follow-up on outside debt management program requests and correspondence.
    • Assess premiums to member loans, process refunds, and recalculate members’ monthly loan payment in accordance with billing statement from CPI vendor.
    • Monitor claim payments filed by the associated departments to assure they are immediately notified when a claim payment is received.
    • Balance and report to Accounting on all applicable general ledgers.
    • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in dealing with member/employee matters.
    • Respond to all NFC inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Maintain a courteous and professional manner with both internal and external customers.
    • Research and resolve exception transactions, as well as out-of-balance conditions.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.


    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum two years of experience at BECU or another financial institution preferred.
    • Minimum two years of experience in one or more of the following areas required: CPI insurance, collections, lending.
    • Detail orientated, with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to make recommendations based on information obtained.
    • Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretionary judgment.
    • Ability to work well under deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making & sound judgment in problem solving.
    • Ability to present a professional image when dealing with members, management, staff, and outside contacts.
    • Proficient verbal and written skills to effectively communicate and provide customer service.
    • Full time hours required, with additional hours as necessary.
