    The Vice President of Treasury is responsible for optimizing the risk/return profile of the balance sheet as well as monitoring, modeling and reporting on the safety and soundness of the Credit Union. This person will lead capital management and interest rate risk management while ensuring return adequacy over a multi-year time horizon. This person will be responsible for managing the Credit Union’s liquidity, investments and mortgage secondary/capital market operations. In addition, this role is responsible for the regulatory compliance and control environment for the Treasury function.

    In this job, you will

    • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BECU Competencies, compliance, regulatory and Information Protection requirements.
    • Plan and lead the execution of asset and liability management strategies and related hedging strategies within the Credit Union’s stated risk limits.
    • Plan and lead the execution of trading strategies for mortgage secondary markets and pipeline hedging.
    • Lead liquidity and investment management strategies, delivering superior performance for the Credit Union and its members.
    • Develop and make recommendations on all product, service, member and channel pricing strategies.
    • Lead the Asset Liability Management Committee meetings.
    • Oversee the report preparation for the Asset Liability Management, Finance and Risk Committees as well as requests from the Board or Credit Union Leaders.
    • Interpret financial data relative to current financial developments/trends, organizational financial policies/plans and significant organization developments, as they relate to multi-year margin, return and reserve needs.
    • Act in a consulting capacity, when necessary, to perform interpretive analyses and provide support to other employees and departments.
    • Comply with the Credit Union’s security program by reviewing functions and usage of computer systems, as they relate to the assigned job function, and reporting suspicious activities to leaders, compliance, risk and information security.
    • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training within the department to develop and encourage employee performance. Meet with staff on a timely basis for the purpose of conducting personnel evaluations.
    • Provide strong leadership to a high performance team that is characterized by high levels of professional expertise, high standards of personal conduct, and a reputation for providing excellent service to Credit Union staff.
    • Create an open, supportive, and effective environment in which staff can maximize their personal and professional growth and development.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration required. Advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum five years of senior level related Finance or Treasury experience in a financial institution required, or comparable work experience.
    • Minimum seven years of experience in a management or leadership role required.
    • Strong quantitative background with knowledge of ALM modeling, option pricing models and fixed income portfolio analysis required.
    • Ability to develop the skills and tools needed to engage and maximize the potential of a high performing team required.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving required.
    • Effective leadership, negotiation and interpersonal communication skills required.
    • Excellent project management skills required.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to effectively communicate and provide customer service.
    • Full time hours required, with additional hours as necessary.
