Summary

The UI Designer will be responsible for creating compelling visual design and user experiences for BECU’s digital channels (BECU.org, Online Banking, etc.), acting as the primary visual designer for assigned channels. This person will be a vital contributor in shaping the BECU design strategy to ensure our members get the best possible experience. The UI Designer will have direct impact on how each member uses our digital channels by designing and interpreting the UX work to help transform and improve the user experience.

In this job, you will

• Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BECU Competencies, compliance, regulatory and Information Protection requirements.
• Design page layouts, icons and graphic assets for use across various digital channels, utilizing design, typographic, layout and compositing skills.
• Work with assigned feature team to ensure all needed design assets are completed each sprint, including wireframing, redlining, and archiving, using business requirements to assist in developing compelling designs.
• Present work to design, development and business stakeholders for review and feedback.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Design, HCI or equivalent work or education experience required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience designing for the web required, including use of Adobe Creative Suite applications and tool/application design. Experience working for a bank or credit union preferred.
• Solid understanding of the technical foundations upon which websites are built (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) required.
• Experience working with Agile development methodologies and designing for A/B testing preferred.
• Experience designing within working environments that have strict compliance/legal rules preferred.
• Exceptional design, typographic, layout and compositing abilities required.
• Ability to clearly communicate the thought process behind a visual design solutions, and rally people around stated design goals.
• Ability to build close relationships with UX designers, product owners, scrum masters, developers, content managers and quality assurance to maintain strong project and team alignment.
• Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate and provide customer service required.
• Ability to keep current with developments in the digital and financial services industries.
• Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary.
